Charting the Heavens
In the early days, people noticed that patterns in the motion of the heavens repeated in time,
and used this knowledge to make the first calendars. Seafaring people used the night sky as a map to steer by.
Folks used their imaginations to see images in the groupings of the stars, and used them to tell stories,
passed down through generations.
