Earth

We begin our study of the planets with our own planet, Earth. Although we are still learning more about our planet all the time, we know much more about it than we do any other. We will learn about Earth's overall structure, including its interior, surface, and atmosphere. We will gain understanding abut processes like plate tectonics and the greenhouse effect. We will study the origin and effects due to the magnetosphere, and finish by examining the gravitational coupling between the earth and its moon, evidenced in the oceanic tides.
